Kaminey (Hindi)

Starring: Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra
This movie has been rated very well, and most of the crowd liked the movie too. As one of my friend said, this movie is a proper70MM movie after a long time, these days most of the movies have been multiplex audience types.

Coming to movie, personally i felt the movie is not as great as it has been hyped. There are positives in the movie, the songs are good. The song 'dan ta naan' is an awesome number and has been picturized well. The other songs are good.

Shahid has done a good job and was able to carry himself well justifying both the characters. Priyanka Chopra played her part well too. The other characters were ok.

The screenplay is ok, however, throughout the movie, one gets a feeling that the movie would take off now... the movie would take off now.. but it never takes off.

There were instances in the movie where there was lot of potential to create more interest and confusion, that was not explored by the director. The climax was good, but refering to the above point, it could have been better.
Over all, I would say, it's a one-time watch movie.
I would rate it 2.5/5

Yevaraina Epudaina

Starring - Varun Sandesh and Vimala Raman
This movie has come up with lot of expectations after Varun Sandesh's previous movie Kothabangaru Lokam has been a hit.
The story of the movie seems to be a mixture of stories of movies in the 1980's -90's. This movies has lot of old stuff... old story... old comedy sequences...and infact too many old (age) actors...
The movie starts off well for first 10 mins appears to be a decent watch but gets boring as the movie goes along. The movie is just another old regular story and this feeling is hard to stop by.
To note the positives from the movie the songs have been picturized well. Few sequences, just few frames, make the audience laugh.
Varun has done a decent job, better than other films so far (though he has acted more than what was required in few scenes). Vimala Raman is OK has shown some promise but as the movie progresses, the impression fades off.
Overall I would rate the movie 2/5
Cheers

NewYork

NewYork
Starring: John Abraham, Katrina Kaif, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Irfan Khan
The movie has interesting aspects to it... firstly the star cast - a strange combination of John, Kat, Neil Nitin and Irfan. Never they got together on screen and Yash Raj banner casting these people together is admirable.
The film starts off in a complete hollywood styple and the director has done a good job to keep the tempo until the first half is done. The movie is based on the 9/11 attack and how innocent people were tortured by FBI and they've been released later due to lack of evidence after the detention process.
The friendship between John, Kat and Neil has been shown pretty well and also, the movie has a good pace in the first half and the second half takes an interesting route and the momentum according to me has been lost a bit.
Katrina Kaif after all the films she has done, has picked up the right movie where in there was some scope for her to perform and she has done an amazing job (considering the performances in the other movies). John has went about his role in a great way. The refreshing aspect of the movie was Neil Nitin Mukesh. He has done proper justice to his role, playing an innocent looking chap from India going abroad for studies and how he handles the situation with FBI was very good. Irfan Khan as usual has done a good job.
The background score is decent soft rock, the songs are OK. Overall, the movie is a good one time watch stuff.
I would rate it 3/5
Cheers
